The Supreme Court dismissed three lawsuits opposing the Trump Administration's "Protect Life regulations," which defunded Planned Parenthood by millions of dollars. As the regulation currently stands,  Title X funds can not be used to "To perform, promote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning."  Title X is a government program that provides preconception family planning assistance to the nation's most vulnerable residents.

Planned Parenthood and 21 pro-abortion states challenged the Protect Life regulations because they shut off the federal aid gravy train for abortion mills. The Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld the regulations but the Fourth Circuit issued an injunction against their enforcement in the state of Maryland. Because there was a split in the Circuits on the enforceability of the Protect Life regulations throughout all 50 states, the Supreme Court granted review, which it ultimately dismissed, which allows Trump's current regulations to stand.

During his presidential campaign, Joe Biden vowed to overturn the HHS law that barred Planned Parenthood from receiving Title X funds. Now, it appears that the Biden HHS will try to reverse the life-saving law, re-granting Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry access to Title X funds.

But the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a pro-life, pro-freedom human rights legal organization, isn't letting Biden get off easy. On the same day as the Court dismissed the Protect Life regulation cases, the ACLJ filed formal public legal comments on behalf of itself and over 557,000 of their members who oppose taxpayer-funded Title X grants going to abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood.

The battle to defund Planned Parenthood has suffered a  with the inauguration of a staunchly pro-abortion Administration. However, thanks to the Supreme Court's actions, Planned Parenthood will not be able to receive taxpayer funding until the Administration's proposed rules are implemented.
